What is the Brand Story Popup?

Overview

The Brand Story Popup shows visitors a short sequence that explains who your brand is and what makes your products different before asking for their email address. After completing the story and subscribing, shoppers receive a discount code that applies to their cart.

This matters because first-time visitors often need context and trust before converting. By combining brand messaging with an incentive, this popup helps turn new visitors into email subscribers and paying customers.

When a potential customer understands why you’re passionate about your business they are more likely to trust your store and want to earn the reward.

When visitors finish your story and share their email, they receive a one-time-use discount code automatically applied to their cart. Each code expires after 35 minutes, adding a sense of urgency that encourages shoppers to complete their purchase right away.

Once the popup is completed, the collected email addresses sync directly to your Shopify store. Any connected email platform (like Klaviyo or Mailchimp) will then capture those contacts, allowing you to continue engaging them through your marketing campaigns.

How it works

Set your reward – Choose the discount percentage and then customize the reward label (e.g., “Get 12% OFF” or “Enjoy 12% Discount”).
Tell your story – By default, you’ll start with 2 story steps. Keep in mind, you’ll always have 3 fixed slides (intro, email input, and discount confirmation) counted toward your total. You can add up to 5 story slides, though we recommend 3 for the best engagement 😉
Organize the flow – Drag and drop slides to adjust their order anytime.
Preview or disable – Use Preview to see how your popup looks, or Turn off to deactivate it when needed.
